A health sector retreat is underway in Masaka IRCAD Africa, bringing together officials and leaders from the Ministry of Health, its affiliated agencies and all public hospitals to conduct a health sector situation analysis and discuss key upcoming projects among other topics.

What a week it has been in Kigali, #Rwanda ! The #MIM2024 has ended with flying colors. Commitments have been reaffirmed, advocacy has been done and science has been called upon to #EndMalaria in Africa.

Today, Prime Minister Dr. Ngirente received and held discussions with a delegation of members of the Multilateral Initiative on Malaria (MIM) society, who are in Rwanda attending the 8th Pan African Malaria Conference (PAMC) 2024.

In his remarks, Permanent Secretary Zachee Iyakaremye said, 'Health equity requires that we address the social determinants of malaria by ensuring that access to prevention, diagnosis and treatment services is available to all, regardless of economic status or geographic location”

A panel discussion featured programme managers coordinating malaria efforts from Uganda and Burkina Faso (countries with high malaria burdens), Rwanda, which has made remarkable progress, and Cabo Verde, which was certified malaria-free this year.

In their remarks at the #WorldMalariaDay celebration, Dr Eric Remera,PhD and Prof Evelyn Ansah, Co-Chairs of the #MIM2024 Scientific Committee, reiterated that it is an opportunity to celebrate progress, reflect on challenges and reaffirm the collective commitment to #EndMalaria .

Prof. CMuvunyi together with Prof. Rose Leke, chair of the MIM Society, moderated a high-level discussion for partner organisations to share their respective interventions on community mobilisation, investment, innovation and integration in the fight against #malaria .
