The EDCTP Board members representing Rwanda met today with Dr. Thomas Nyirenda, Strategic Partnerships & Capacity Development Manager, and Professor Marcel Tanner, High Representative for Europe, to discuss the preparations of the next EDCTP Forum to be held in Kigali in 2025.

On the eve of #WorldMalariaDay , RBC is making a huge impact in Nyamagabe district by distributing 200k mosquito nets. This intervention is a game-changer in the fight against malaria, showing the power of community action and effective prevention. #EndMalaria

On the sidelines of #MIM2024 , RBC hosted delegates from Gates Foundation, who visited the national reference laboratory and discussed efforts to integrate genome sequencing into the fight against diseases in Rwanda and opportunities for future collaboration.

During the #MIM2024 malaria vaccine plenary session today, Minister of State Yvan Butera highlighted the need for a functioning ecosystem around the production and use of malaria vaccines on the continent, including R&D, clinical trials and adequate funding.

Alongside #MIM2024 , Prof Prof. Dr. Claude M. Muvunyi had an insightful meeting with Philip Welkhoff, Director of Malaria Gates Foundation. They delved into the crucial role of seamless integration between quality and geographic data with programmatic interventions in malaria elimination efforts.

RBC in collaboration with Nyamagabe District have organised a training session in Nyamagabe for the local leaders and opinion leaders on integrated vector management to combat malaria spread by Anopheles mosquitoes.
