John Swinney repeatedly said that the UK Supreme Court blocked introduction of the SNP Green Self ID Gender Reform Bill. This is completely false. He must know this. It was Scotland’s Court of Session that deemed the Bill unlawful. The Scottish Government chose not to appeal.

John Swinney says the Labour Party “wishes to relieve bankers of the obligation to pay into our tax system, by lifting the cap on their bonuses”. This is patently false. Lifting the cap on bonuses does not exempt them from tax. In fact, it means more income tax will be paid.

When John Swinney was Finance Secretary he chose not to pass on all NHS-related Barnett consequentials to spending on the Scottish NHS. This meant that increases in health spending were *even lower* in SNP Scotland than in Tory England. Bit late for him to pose as pro-NHS.
