Atrophy of what brain regions are selectively associated with α-synuclein pathology during preclinical stages? In this JAMA Neurology paper we found that the nucleus basalts of Meynert was in particular affected, which was related to impairment in executive function.

Can we identify people who are at increased risk of developing amyloid-β pathology in the coming years? This study indicates that plasma p-tau217 together with Ab42/40 can do the job, which is important for identifying suitable people for primary prevention studies.

Next piece in the puzzle. PhD student Jonas Fritze performed scRNAseq of neuroblasts during aging. We find that excitatory progenitors decrease faster than inhibitory and that some neuroblasts acquire an immune response signature. #neurogenesis #stemcells frontiersin.org/journals/neuro…
