cops violently arresting protesters at UB. they are outnumbered roughly two to one. when i was told to go to the sidewalk, as i filmed and observed, a cop put his hand on me and threatened to arrest me.

i want to clarify a few things i shared in this initial thread from the (what i could tell) multi-police force response to, at MAX, 60-70 protestors UBuffalo last night. first, when i said the group was outnumbered 2:1, i referred to the group who seemed prepared for arrest. /1

With apologies for the paywall, my op-ed for our local paper on our university president's decision to gratuitously unleash police violence against our students and community members: buffalonews.com/opinion/anothe…

Boy do I hope these two very smart law professors Anthony O'Rourke and Wadie Said, are wrong and we're not about to see a wave of ridiculous insane/specious investigations into college students who have the temerity to – gasp – not want to fund the Israeli military

Today, Anthony O'Rourke, Guyora Binder, and Rick Su explain that, for municipal insurers, the predictability of future losses is far more important than the level of those losses - which is why they will always oppose radical structural reforms to policing. lpeproject.org/blog/insurance…

Totally fascinating / eye-opening on insurers intervening in police reform (and local gov concerns) from Anthony O'Rourke on The LPE Project. Excited for the rest of the symposium on insurance (👏 Kate Yoon) (cc the insurance lot Gert Meyers Liz McFall @allartmarkets.bsky.social Jathan Sadowski)

Professor Jamelia Morgan’s work has been field-defining. Her scholarship has been crucial to my ( and so many others’) understanding of disability law and policing. She’s also a wonderful person. The academy is so lucky to have her. A true gem! I am so angry.

Professor Jamelia Morgan is one of the most brilliant people in the legal academy. The lawsuit which included attacks on her work & the work of others Northwestern Law reflects not only blatant racism, but a shocking lack of intellectualism.
