We love seeing archival photos from Newport News Shipbuilding & Drydock. This photo of the first hydraulic turbine built at NN Shipbuilding was captured on May 23, 1923. And look at the scale of it! The turbine was later installed at the Locke Power station in Petersburg, VA!

We love it when the little mariners from Peake Childhood Center visit the Mariners' Museum! Here they are on a recent field trip using counting skills to sing about 10 little sailboats and exercising literacy skills with a story called 'Who Sank the Boat.' ⛵️
