A very sensible decision - for which the UK government deserves credit (can’t have been easy to close these pilots).

Electrical heat and low carbon heat networks are the decarb choices that are ready now. Hydrogen still hasn’t made the starting line.

Worth saying that Sadiq Khan pushed ahead with ULEZ despite huge opposition, including from the Labour leadership, and despite predictions it could cost him a third term.

A decision that now looks completely vindicated

So does the bounce to Khan in many boroughs mean the Westminster establishment credits it all to ULEZ and environment policies and pressures the prime minister to make positive environment policy announcements? Like they did the reverse with for Uxbridge?

Unsure why Laura Kuenssberg had a climate sceptic on this morning. Luke Johnson has referred to 'the 'climate emergency' delusion' and 'the green elite’s fake claim that there’s a ‘climate emergency’'. What qualifications does a bakery owner have to pontificate on climate on the bbc?

If I didn’t believe climate change was real I kinda feel like this day would change my mind because i have just experienced all seasons in one hour

Looking forward* to climate impacts undermining food security only for climate sceptics to then blame policies that are trying to tackle climate impacts for food shortages.

* Not looking forward to it at all.

UK trade policy must change: it currently supports harmful food production overseas while undermining UK farmers.

Together with the NFU, we're advocating for core environmental standards which would reduce the UK's contribution to nature's destruction & support UK farmers.

This would be much easier to believe if we hadn't just been told that this is the least busy parliamentary session since at least 1997, that could dedicate an entire Monday to a general debate just a few weeks ago.

Not even two months into 2024, & Wirral Council has now finalised its decision to partially destroy Hoylake’s foreshore and destablilise the redevelopment of dunes which lie within a SSSI, SAC, SPA and Ramsar (hatched dark green).

An utterly devastating blow to nature.

WWF has called for core environmental standards for many years - delighted to hear minette batters put the case direct to the PM at .
In an election year, ensuring UK producers are not undercut by lower standard produce should be a key manifesto commitment.
