Year 3 got under tables to do some Stone Age painting this week! They used chalk, charcoal and paints made with paprika and turmeric.

Year 3 enjoyed foraging for rocks and sticks in the park and making Stone Age weapons and tools.

Year 3 explored the prehistoric collection at The Horniman this week for their topic The Stone Age to The Iron Age and went foraging in the gardens.

Year 4 are very lucky and have a specialist cricket coach in to teach us all the skills we need, such as bowling, batting and fielding. We’ve been having a great time so far!

Thank you @geobus for a brilliant virtual workshop on Rocks and Minerals. Puffin class loved using their 3D glasses to identify different rocks and enjoyed learning all about them.

Scary Plague Doctors in Year 2!

Reception have been subitising to 2 and 3. They love playing the ‘3 or not 3?’ game! Why don’t you try it? Take a walk inside or outside and spot things that are in small groups. Ask your child ‘3 or not 3’? And they have to answer as quickly as they can!

The school council and peer mentors have been meeting to discuss the school lunches and had a great meeting with the kitchen team this week.

Butterfly class have been problem solving. We found that our 2D shapes weren’t sticking to the blackboard. How frustrating! We used our problem solving skills to create our own shapes. We drew them using rulers and talked about their properties.

Year 4 participated in a ‘Decoding Egyptian paintings’ workshop where they learnt about Nabatum’s tomb and created their own style of Egyptian paintings, full of all of their favourite things!

Year 3 enjoyed a brilliant day Science Museum looking at the wonderful artifacts in the Making The Modern World exhibition and watching some exciting experiments in The Wonder Show for their new topic Technology.

Sun Bear's World Book Day Costumes from last week!

Sun Bear Class used Microbits to program their own Step Counters and then tested them out in the playground.

Year 2 exploring our local river, the River Peck whilst learning about water pollution. We even got time to litter pick!
