Clean Air For All Dulwich

@DulwichCleanAir

We want ALL of Dulwich to have access to clean air not just the privileged few. The LTNs cause pollution, increased traffic, stress and inequality.

Southwark has still provided no evidence that cllr Leeming's claim that LFB were consulted is correct.

We have heard nothing from LFB that the FOI was inaccurate.

Cllr Kieron Williams release this information for us all to see and end this speculation.

*not permanent - it's a trial closure.
Intentionally tweeting out misinformation is not helpful for your followers.
The ES only agreed to the closure *if* it was a trial and delays were monitored. If delays are reported it 'would need to be removed.'

The cllr from Dulwich Village claims the FOI from the London fire brigade is wrong without providing any evidence.

We say to Southwark Council James McAsh: publish all the documents between Southwark and LFB today.

Show us.

East Dulwich Grove is home to four huge schools with thousands of kids. It has a medical hub plus a nursery.

This same road averages 15k+ vehicles a day, a 35% increase since pre-LTNs.

Yet local cllrs think the Dulwich LTNs are a success.

'Meeting its objectives so far.'
Does that mean this LTN intended to put an extra 5k vehicles on already busy roads?
Acre Lane: +561 vehicles a day
King's Avenue: +855 vehicles a day
A23: +969 vehicles a day
A205: +2903 vehicles a day

Shocking that this is seen as a positive.

Just a friendly reminder that when you see Southwark data talking about 9k+ pedestrians using 'Calton Ave' a day - that ⬇️ is the catchment Southwark used, so that number also includes *everyone* walking through Dulwich Village (to the station/schools/park/gallery/shops etc).

We've been sent this letter to the mayor from the Burbage Rd RA. Interesting that cllrs 'do not dispute' that the LTN has increased traffic on Burbage (after 'many meetings'), but won't do anything to stop it.
Cllrs continue to ignore residents on Croxted and deny the LTN link.

£1.5m+ to be spent making *more* changes to the junction in Dulwich Village that has already had £100ks spent since 2020 by Southwark.

This is an obscene amount of money to be spent on an already very affluent area (with a very lovely and large park up the road as well).

Cllr Margy Newens 🌹 said if residents didn't want a CPZ, they wouldn't have to have one.
East Dulwich Grove, Townley Road and Calton Ave all said no (for the 2nd time) to a CPZ, so why are they again being consulted?
Doesn't sound like the council listens.

Dulwich Village cllr Richard Leeming:

'The idea that LTNs cause pollution is one of the great lies of our time.'

⬇️ This is Croxted Rd.

🔴TfL says the Dulwich LTN is the root cause for the delays to the #3 bus on this road.

Is this congestion just pumping out fresh air, cllr?

If local cllrs who take the praise from the pro-LTN lobby simply ignore those that suffer because of the LTNs, can they say they do represent everyone?
Margy Newens 🌹 (would tag cllr Leeming but he blocked us for pointing out that traffic has increased)

Local cllr: 'Mostly those negative outcomes... are caused by other factors.'
What 'other' factors have caused:
🔴A 35% increase in traffic on EDG?
🔴Roads inside the LTN seeing a 10% increase in traffic
🔴Cycling numbers down by up to 71% inside the LTN
🔴Delayed #3 bus

This is the number of emergency vehicles that used the closed junction in Dulwich Village in just 2022.

Cllr Leeming said they 'only' used Calton Ave 'a handful of times.'

He supports Southwark closing the Calton Ave entry to ambulances, the fire brigade and police.
