...She was 'Cissy' to her friends and husband, 'Ma' to her children, and Mrs Mahon to all people younger than her. She was bewildered by the use of 'Mary'. As soon as people started calling her by her surname again, she perked up and responded normally.

Is it not crazy that we must record ethnicity for every patient booking in but not what name patients choose to use? Crazy. Especially given we’ve shown, for over 100,000 patients when directly asked, 30% prefer another to formal forename. #NHSdigital #CallMe Crazy.

Thanks to Bruce Keogh for a #CallMe conversation. “Calling people by the the name they prefer is the decent thing to do. It’s so obviously a simple and impactful improvement, I wonder why we didn't think of this before.” #innovation #Bekind Brian Dolan OBE, RMN, RGN Worcestershire Acute NHS

✨Sonia Sparkles✨🖤 #CallMe: Mike McCabe My grandmother was upset not being called Mrs X, her married status being her only tie to my long dead grandfather. MIL known all her life by her middle name but no one asked what she was known as so they called her by her first name & unsurprisingly she didn’t reply.

#CallMe - what name would you like to be called? Interacting with patients by their chosen name ensures that we are delivering person-centred patient care. Patients may wish to be addressed by their middle name, title and surname, a changed name or even a nickname. #Kind

15 minutes to summarise the unmitigated sabotage of this country at the hands of the Tories. Deliberate cruelty. Wilful negligence. Unrelenting greed. Sneering arrogance. Let's annihilate them in the #GeneralElection4thJuly2024

#CallMe – what name would you like to be called? Asking our patients for their chosen name improves their experience and makes them feel valued and comfortable enough to remind staff of their chosen name. #Kind #Excellent #CUHproud
