Morays are among some of the true depth generalists of the reef. And the Honeycomb Moray (Gymnothorax favagineus) is no exception; it can be found in very shallow water but I photographed this one at 105m depth in the Coral Sea. #mesophotic
Let's go back to #mesophotic Coral Sea! Fishes of the genus Plectranthias are very hard to photograph because they are small, like to hide, and live in deep water. So I was very glad when I took this picture of Plectranthias bennetti at about 120m depth! #ichthyology
