#OTD in 1935 Albert Paden, 19, was kidnapped and killed by a lynch mob in Pittsboro, Mississippi. Paden had been arrested for allegedly attacking a white woman. His body was found hanging under the Yalobusha River bridge. More @ the Burnham-Nobles Archive: crrjarchive.org/incidents/560

#OTD in 1933 A.T. Harden, 15, was killed by a lynch mob in Tuscaloosa, AL. Harden, and Dan Pippen, 18, were in jail, when a mob seized the men and shot them. Investigations were hampered by Klan intimidation of witnesses. More - The Burnham-Nobles Archive: crrjarchive.org/incidents/363

This #LaborDay we remember Edward Bracey, a farmer killed #OTD in 1935 by a mob in Montgomery County, Alabama. During a cotton pickers’ strike, a gang vigilantes opened fire on Bracey’s house. He was killed trying to escape. More @ Burnham-Nobles Archive: crrjarchive.org/incidents/367
