We all know the starting point is Taser for all.

Why I can carry one as a Response Sgt, but a Neighbourhood Sgt can’t is silly.

If someone’s trying to kill you, a Taser is a start. But if it fails, you need a Glock.

I’ll be honest, someone running at me with a samurai sword, I’d like a Glock.

Or, someone chasing me down the road with a chainsaw, I’d also like a Glock.

Our team went out before the start of their shift today.

‘Suspect armed with a 🔪.’

They had Tasers, but as they pulled up on scene I could hear the worry in the controllers voice waiting for an update.

Then relief when they heard “suspect detained in cuffs.”

It’s hard not to read this & feel horrified. 😓

Yesterday morning, the best of us ran towards serious danger and were horrifically injured. 😔

Let’s put it this way, if we all need to carry tourniquets because of the risks posed by edged weapons:

A) Why can’t all Cops carry Tasers?

B) Are we just meant to get stabbed if Tasers fail?

I work with incredibly brave people, who turn up day in, day out & deal with exceptionally volatile & dangerous incidents.

By the grace of god most of them end without any or little harm being caused to anyone.
