187 bottles of Schefflenzer Edelmost filled this afternoon. I thought a very simple, regionally typical cider, but it’s lovely. After that I had to eat, and there was a fest on at the local supermarket, with a beach bar. Food, a couple beers and a chat, then home again.

My obsession may be getting out of hand. But sometimes the shapes and colours of the pips of a pear can be a useful ID diagnostic when it’s a toss up between a couple potential candidates.

Harvest got rained off this evening, so I finished putting reference pips into their little capsules and started putting them in some sort of storage order. Only about 84 varieties so far, hope to get a new slew of them this year.
