There is something almost epic in many of the same analysts decrying how skills shortages in key sectors require a surge of mass immigration yet at the same time advocating various courses of action that will shatter education in ways that compound skills shortages.

This is spot on. The inability of so many analysts aligned with the UK Right and some on the Left to grasp how higher ed fulfils key strategic functions for the state that can't be quantified through an income index indicates intellectual bankruptcy in the UK think tank scene
