Doors Open #ldnont is only one month away, this year's theme is "sights, sounds and stories that make our city." In early 1915, Londoners would have seen and heard the sound of horses, not only from civilian carriages, but also from the 1st Hussars before they left to Europe.

#OTD in 1940, this famous Canadian photo of the Second World War was taken - "Wait for Me, Daddy" depicts the departure of the BC Regiment. In August 1944, the BC Regiment were almost completely wiped out, but Jack Bernard, the father at the front of the photo, survived.
