Powerful day for Kingston University students Guilford College - The Botanist Underground Rail Road tour. Followed by Greenborough Civil and Human Rights museum. Extremely moving experience -reflecting UK’s role in empowering this process with colonisation. Come so far, long way to go!

Today's decisions from the Supreme Court on Affirmative Action represent a significant setback for Civil Rights in the U.S. and are a cornerstone of the conservative movement's coordinated effort to roll back access to opportunity for systemically marginalized Americans.

My birthday is today. To quote Joe Louis, "I did the best with what I had." My only regret is that at certain moments in my life I was not radical enough. With age the struggle for social justice becomes even more important and the role of education even more urgent.

Shocking. This is exactly why we must broaden the curriculum. Teaching and learning Black British histories is essential for our understanding of the world we live in. It's in all our best interests.
