Needed to hibernate for a few days after AGU. It was great to see everyone! There's so much exciting science happening right now.

I'm giving a talk at AMS on space weather, but in case you can't make it here's a sneak peak at one of my very technical slides

Big ol' "halo" coronal mass ejection (CME) seen in the European Space Agency/NASA Sun & Space/U.S. Naval Research Laboratory SOHO/LASCO C3 data earlier today! 😍☀️ It erupted on the far side of the Sun, so not Earth directed. The planet in the field of view is Mercury. (Neptune is in there somewhere too but too faint to see)

Just set some code in motion that will take two weeks to complete. Fingers crossed it goes well! If it does, I will generate a public repository of 3D reconstructions of coronal active regions. If I can figure out where to host it.

Gave a talk in solar physics that went really well today, and then I got to see Yvette Cendes's talk right after! So I talked a bit about our star and then got to learn a lot about black holes ripping up OTHER stars.
