We are conscientious about addressing both sides; the pro side of the New Deal was covered already, and a different project was assigned for that. This assignment, specifically, was actually about both sides of the criticism: too far and not far enough.

There is a heavy emphasis on interpreting political cartoons as a means of addressing historical thinking skills within state (Regents) and AP assessments. That’s where this assignment was borne. We love this assignment. The kids do a wonderful job with it.

Happy Foreign Language week! Let’s start in #mrsyates class, French 2. She has students going through stations; flashcards, coloring, and word match on the smartboard, all while listening to French songs. Love the variety! #engagedclassroom

Here in #MrsYaegers class, students are working on imperfect tense. Students sit in groups of three for this activity, but the teacher is ready to group them in various ways using Kagan structures.

Part of what makes good teachers great is the atmosphere and environment they create in the classroom. Students are listening to music as they work together - one of many little things she does to foster a comfortable, fun, and friendly classroom. #engagedclassroom
