🧭 Magnetometers are essential instruments in space physics, but measurements are often contaminated by external interference sources. 💾 Introducing MAGPRIME! An open‐source Python library featuring state‐of‐the‐art interference removal algorithms. 👉agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.102…

Just presented some new magnetometer analysis results for the Korean Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter spacecraft! This data will help us to map remnant lunar magnetic fields on the surface of the moon and study the interaction between the moon and solar wind.

Newest paper just dropped at Geoscientific Instrumentation! We present a physically-synthesized dataset that can help to validate the performance of magnetic interference mitigation algorithms for spaceflight magnetometers. doi.org/10.5194/gi-13-…

Another pretty plot that has been my headache for the past 3 weeks. It turns out that filter bank design is not trivial! These vertical stripes are spectral leakage between wavelet channels.

This heatmap shows the inner product of each wavelet in a filterbank. Off-diagonal values well below 0 ensures orthagonality between wavelets and reconstructability.

FFT-based Random Singular Value Decomposition is wild. I just decomposed a 30 GB matrix in 4 seconds with floating point error in the reconstruction. Kind of shocked it's not the standard in Numpy / Scipy.

I'm excited to watch the TRACERS launch today! With all of the mission cancellations, TRACERS is a breath of fresh air. Ad Astra! 🍻 x.com/i/broadcasts/1…

Watch the waves from yesterday’s M8.8 megathrust earthquake near Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula roll across seismic stations in North America. Just amazing.

Today's pretty plot: 2d FFT of the Gramian matrix ... of a hankel block hankel trajectory matrix.... of magnetic anomalies on a sphere. Completely unusable data but I like it!
