In Sept 2022, 1/9 Astrea secondaries were graded as Good by Ofsted. Now 8/9 are, including 3 who have never been Good before in their history (inc. predecessors).Congratulations to all. A transformation at scale is taking place. We have so much more to do,the journey is exciting!

We've had a very strong half term with SparxMaths.Great to see our trust values of scholarship and tenacity being lived. This is a great video describing what is essentially the strategy of the best schools. The dominant approach, however, is everyone shuts their doors and teaches. I’ve worked in both types of schools. There is no contest: the alignment school is much more effective and satisfying.

Time for all secondary schools in England to ask themselves: 'How can we learn from Michaela, Mercia and Mossbourne?' Here's what I've learned from them:

I would ask Bridget Phillipson to visit the highest performing schools in the country & ask staff: 1. Why do ALL of your children succeed in & enjoy Maths & English (including disadvantaged)? 2. How do you ensure behaviour is excellent? 3. How do you achieve such high attendance?
