Very upsetting to hear on WKCR-FM NY that NYPD are threatening to arrest student journalists—and possibly even Columbia Journalism dean Jelani Cobb—if they leave Pulitzer Hall to continue their reporting on campus.

Mind you the student journalists on air have explained that school is still going on, finals aren’t optional. These students have been protesting, yes. But still doing their assignments. This is a friggin Tuesday night.

That’s exactly what Shafik thinks will happen. Because it’s two weeks til graduation and some bleachers haven’t been built. And she’s headed for a rude awakening on May 15th.
