Dean Zwikel just announced his Apple Immersive Video Creator (AIVC) tool for Windows 10/11. His free tool encodes stereoscopic video to MV-HEVC and includes the spatial metadata (vexu) necessary for playback on Apple Vision Pro. Great job, Dean! groups.google.com/g/aivc

I hope you enjoy my new post explaining how to use the open source x265 encoder and the NVIDIA Video Codec SDK to encode stereoscopic video with MV-HEVC. As always, it's a bit technical, but I hope you learn something useful in the process: blog.mikeswanson.com/mv-hevc-with-x…

The Immersive Company (responsible for the impressive Prima app) is teasing us with a new immersive "creative tool." A camera, perhaps? Sign me up!

Big news for Vision Pro fans. The first third-party Apple Immersive film drops this September! It’s the world’s first, shot entirely with the new Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive cameras, and it’s from CANAL+. I got a sneak peek, and it’s incredible. Mark your calendars.

Converted some of our existing immersive videos to be tagged with the new APMP and got them to run in our custom app using the built in player, pretty seamlessly. Tried a 360° video as well and all played nicely. #WWDC25

ExplorePOV has quickly become one of my favorite Vision Pro apps. The first Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive footage from French Polynesia is stunning and makes you feel like you are there. They have a massive library and Premium is on sale right now. Not sponsored, just a fan.

We’ve just released Amplium V2! It supports 7200×7200 resolution per eye. This time, the footage was shot in low light, but under better conditions we believe we can deliver even higher quality. We’d love to hear your feedback — both what you enjoyed and what we could improve!
