ACC is facing a difficult situation with a surge in surrendered pets, and they’re doing their best. However, the City and ACC should have been better prepared, especially with the decision to close the Bk shelter while rushing to open the Queens facility despite structural issues

At today’s New York City Council hearing on animal welfare, the city’s Health Department clearly failed its animals. Our rescues and advocates do incredible work for injured pets, horses, birds, and more. But judging by how many of my colleagues showed up, we obviously need change.
