Today our Year 14 pupils enjoyed a fantastic Fun Day. It was lovely to see everyone together one last time before the official exam season starts!

Well done to all those who took part in the UK Junior Maths Challenge and to those who achieved Silver and Bronze Certificates!

We were delighted to invite ‘Made for More’ back to Antrim Grammar School to deliver a workshop to Year 8 and 9 pupils entitled ‘Without A Trace’ which discussed digital footprint and staying safe online. We wish to thank them for another engaging and inspirational workshop.

Today former pupil Michelle Connor presented us with a prestigious Purple Plaque! Awarded by Innovate UK, it celebrates the achievements of Women in Innovation and aims to inspire more girls to pursue STEM subjects. Michelle, is making incredible strides in AI and HealthTech.

We recently attended the Green Flag Awards event at Stranmillis College in Belfast. Eco-Schools Green Flag is an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning.

The Art Department end of year exhibition was a great success with the celebration of the amazing GCSE and A Level artwork.

After 34 years at AGS teaching History and Politics, Miss Gibson will be retiring at the end of this academic year. Everyone associated with AGS would like to wish Lynne a long and happy retirement.

We are saying farewell to Mrs Aitcheson, Pastoral VP. After 19 years at AGS, starting as a Geography teacher & rising to the Senior Leadership team before becoming Vice Principal in 2017, Mrs Aitcheson is embarking on a new journey as Principal at Dalriada School in August.

We are delighted to welcome Daniel Chestnutt as our first Careers Guest Speaker this year. Everyone in Y11-14 is welcome. Friday 13th September at 1.30 in C3. Bring your lunch! Daniel left AGS in 2018 and has since been studying Medicine & Surgery at Lancaster University.

We will hold our Familiarisation Day for those registered to sit the SEAG Assessment in AGS on Wed 16 Oct at 2pm. Parents/Guardians of those who have registered to sit the test at AGS will be contacted directly in due course with further details. We look forward to meeting you!
