The deepening humanitarian nightmare in Sudan entered its second year with increased hostilities in El Fasher, opening an alarming new chapter in this conflict.

We need a concerted global push for a ceasefire, followed by a comprehensive peace process to end the bloodshed.

Africa deserves a voice in the international peace & security architecture.

Strengthening it can only happen if African countries can participate in global governance structures as equals.

This includes correcting the lack of permanent representation at the Security Council.

This visit re-affirmed my conviction that his timeless teachings of peace, compassion & service to others are the pathway to a better world for all.

As the world is seeing mass coral bleaching, I welcome the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea advisory opinion recognizing human-made greenhouse gases as a source of marine pollution & clarifying that countries must take all necessary measures to reduce, control & prevent it.

As United Nations Secretary-General, I have had the privilege of seeing the magnificent biological diversity of our planet up close.
