Lots of painting and waxing today so seems a perfect day for brand new light coloured trousers!

It doesn’t stop at 5pm…. Home dining table (and prop from James Bond ‘Spectre’) needed a quick lick of polish. Buff up later and then it is feet up time.

What a difference a day makes…. (Well, actually work wise it’s 3 hrs prep and 2 hrs for the first coat).

Might need someone to talk us out of collecting enamel signs…. So much to learn!

Busy morning ahead - two splitter (type of knockdown) wardrobes to polish (waxed yesterday) and a lovely open rack dresser to wax with clear wax. Then time for a cuppa hopefully.

We keep lots of sample finish boards in the warehouse, these show how old pine can look with clear, medium and dark finishes. Each piece is subtly different though so if you want to see the finishes on your actual piece we can tape up sections on the back to help you choose!

We’ve removed any deep marks and scratches and this very nice (and very large) knockdown wardrobe will be waxed today, polished and delivered next week.

Because we like being busy there’s just enough time to cut the grass before heading home….(to cut the grass!).

New blade and service for the bandsaw today, so we’ve harvested all of the nice sawdust from inside for mixing with glue for repairs to gaps/shrinkage etc. It helps everything blend in nicely.
