Tomorrow the โ€˜#AssistedDyingBillโ€™ will receive Second Reading. Politeia published a critique of the Bill by our Director, Professor David Albert Jones, on Tuesday: politeia.co.uk/assisted-dyingโ€ฆ Key reading for Parliamentary considerations! โ€˜#AssistedDyingโ€™ #AssistedSuicide

See here our full Statement on the Second Reading of the dangerous โ€˜#AssistedDyingBillโ€™, particularly noting the very unfortunately limited debate and appreciation of the full evidence by Parliamentarians: bioethics.org.uk/news-events/neโ€ฆ โ€˜#AssistedDyingโ€™ (#AssistedSuicide / #Euthanasia)

Analysis by Anscombe Bioethics Centre on the assisted suicide bill. The core problem is that the Bill "would deprive some people of suicide prevention on the basis of their health status." i.e. it is wrong in principle, not just due to the many flaws in the bill as drafted.

The current version of the assisted bill is weaker, practical problems with it more evident & dangers of coercion, pressure & expansion are greater. Excellent article by Prof Jones of Anscombe Bioethics Centre for Politeia today.
