I’ve been distressed to hear about the attacks on the indigenous tribal Christians of Manipur, India, and of the churches that have been destroyed in recent weeks.

Church Times The emerging situation in Uganda amounts to an attack on fundamental human dignity and international human rights. My prayers are with the LGBT+ community there, which must be living in the most terrible fear. I join with those condemning the new legislation.

In a time of horrific violence across the globe, may we also remember the Kuki-Zo Christians in Manipur, India, who have been under attack since May. Over 140 people have died and thousands more are displaced as hundreds of homes and churches have been destroyed.

Today we remember Archbishop Janani Luwum (1922- 17 Feb 1977). Archbishop Luwum was a strong critic of the violence brought about by Idi Amin and his regime. He was arrested and eventually killed for his outspokeness. Art by @ourchurchspeaks
