There’s a lot I wanna say here, but Greg Abbott basically just told closeted trans children that if they come out, his state government is going to take them away from their affirming parents. Imagine being a closeted, scared trans child with that responsibility on your heart.

There have always been trans kids. This is nothing new. Letting them live their truth will save their lives. To all the trans kids and families who love them, in Texas and around the world: stay strong and keep fighting for your freedom.

Our trans and nonbinary youth deserve to be their full, beautiful, authentic selves without fear. We see you, we value you, we love you.

Here in Minnesota, we stand with and value our trans youth.
