Another week rolls on... Family farming in the mighty King Country💕💕

January in the King Country flown by; kids home from school & doing all my farming jobs, a magic week on holiday and 2 new Growing Future Farmers students started last week...

Sun breaks through finally... briefly. Ewes all to their lambing paddocks by the end of the week. Big job sorting out different breeds, ages, & stages of pregnancy to all get to the right place.

Finally had our first day of docking. Great to get started. Dogs & I were a bit rusty, hopefully the weather holds and we all sharpen up😄

Big week dodging rain - silage in pit, drafted & weaned lambs; beef heifers AI'd; bulls out with cows. New #growingfuturefarmers student gave us a team of seven aged 21 & younger - love their energy & enthusiasm💕🌞🐕🐑🐂

6 days shearing done & dusted, lots of tired bodies. Boys doing a few "special" lambs in second shed on last day. Family holiday countdown on💕

31st January & today.... amazing transformation😀! A lot of suppl feed going in. Tired Hunter turnip crop booming, how many extra lambs to put on????

Another month with no rain in the KC... feeding out a fair bit of imported feed to try & keep animals & pastures in good nick. Thankful for selling stock early and our keen, young team who are mostly staying healthy🤞🤞😁

Farm changing color after a couple of magic rain events. Still lots of suppl going in, rams out with ewes. Young dogs going great. Feeling blessed given the challenges some are facing around the country. Kia kaha! #familyfarming
