H.E. ambassador Liselotte Plesner Liselotte Plesner visited iconic City of Dilmun (Qala'at al-Bahrain) where Aarhus Archaeology and @MuseumMoesgaard's famous Carlsbergfondet funded archaeological expeditions began 70 years ago.

Off to Jordan for another round of fieldwork - I will be analysing EB I pottery from the site of Murayghat again, during the University of Copenhagen fieldschool for archaeology students.

The Ritual Landscapes of Murayghat season 2023 has started. Fieldschool and research into the EBI, taking students for the first tour of the site and removing back-fill University of Copenhagen

Yesterday, it rained here in Madaba and the trip to Mount Nebo with students did not seem to happen under the best conditions. But I was proven wrong and saw Mount Nebo from a different side this year - rainbow included!

In 1972 @museummoesgaard 's Karen Frifelt became the first archaeologist to excavate in the Sultanate of Oman, finding the Bronze Age remains of UNESCO world heritage site BAT.

I have the pleasure of studying the rapidly growing EB IA pottery assemblage from Murayghat - a very exciting site both in terms of architecture and pottery.

Archeological cooperation btwn #Denmark and #Bahrain goes back to 1953. That year cities and temples of the ancient civilisation of #Dilmun we finally located to Bahrain by a Danish expedition from @MuseumMoesgaard. Thank you Steffen Terp Laursen 🇩🇰 🇺🇦 for a highly informative visit.
