Great PhD opportunity in breastfeeding/infant feeding research

I’ve landed in Hong Kong after flying from Paris CDG, via London Heathrow. I now have to wait ~8 hours before I get my #COVID19 test results and thus have ample time to tweet about my experience.

Tens of thousands of potential contacts tested in response to Korea nightclub cluster identified last weekend. To get ahead of this virus, surveillance and contact tracing needs to be fast and thorough.

This is what is needed if we want to safely get out of lockdown. The slowness of the UK Gov response to this is troubling. Only 10% of necessary contact tracers recruited in England and in Scotland posts just being advertised now. After we have been in lockdown for 2 months.

New article available comparing the potential health implications of COVID-19 on newborns against the damage caused by separating infants and mothers by Editorial Review Board Member Karleen Gribble, PhD

This will be reassuring news for women who are breastfeeding: A study led by Tina Chambers at UCSD looked to see if #SARSCoV2, which causes #Covid19, could be found in breast milk. They tested samples from 18 infected women; found no virus. jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/…
