Grades 1 & 2 teachers learned about the Math Block schedule at today’s PD. They had opportunities to engage in various components of the Math Block ranging from the Do Now, to the Solve & Share as well as a variety of activities utilizing manipulatives.

Day 3 BTC Launch w/ Ms. Rodriguez’s @S8_Belleville Kindergarten students. They continued to work on their collaboration skills. First, they listened to a story called “Not a Box” & then completed a task of turning their “box” into an object! They ❤️ BTC and said it’s “AMAZING”!

Day 4 BTC Launch w/ @S8_Belleville students. They listened to a story called, “How Big is Your Brave?” & used their ‘Partner Powers’ to feel brave enough to share their ideas as they collaborated to solve the task of “Next Door Neighbors!” Lots of perseverance w/ this task!

Ms. Rodriguez’s @S8_Belleville students began to explore addition. They used the boards to show/write the # of flowers that were picked in all & to justify using counters & fingers. The extension for the early finishers was to justify using another way: cubes, drawings, etc!
