Please don't remove students from physical education, music, Arts, or other classes to remediate them in other areas. These classes are just as important for overall education and may be their favorite classes and one of the reason they actually enjoy school.

Courtney Thompson's level of energy and enthusiasm is only tempered by her degree of humility. She is the type of person who wouldn't mention that she was the first woman athlete to have her jersey retired at the University of Washington. Congratulations, Courtney!

Admin, never take for granted the work that your staff does for their students, but also don’t take for granted the time they need to be with their families. To students they’re important, but to their family they’re the world!

Schools are now structured so that the majority of student misbehaviors essentially have ZERO consequences…and that’s horrible for schools overall…but especially for the students that are not misbehaving.

Teachers, your students may not remember everything you taught them in your class, but they will remember that you cared, showed grace, made them feel valued, and encouraged them to be their best. They will remember that and YOU forever.

No one should care how a kindergartener compares on a standardized test with kindergarteners around the country. They should care if the child feels cared for, valued, and actually enjoys coming to school to learn. Let's focus on the joy of learning, not testing.
