really interesting contribution, under stabilizing selection the genetic variance portion of phenotypes probably-> nonnormal tail ends of traits(such as intelligence) deviates from infinitesimal model ev

I think environmental influences also work this way(most environmental influences are poly in this sense with a few(high level of lead, starvation/nutrition, think pka that led to big trait malleability)

Given the current political reality and the expansion of attacks on science, it is time for scientists to be more effective, forceful, and vociferous as their own political advocates. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

I have debunked this map of global IQs, and the study it was based on, so many times, but it just won't die. Help me spread the word about how much this study sucks. For every 10 likes, I will tweet a ridiculous fact about how badly this study was conducted.

I am proud to share our latest paper📜 “The multi-scale complexity of human genetic variation beyond continental groups”, just pre-printed on bioRxiv! Link Here ➡️biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…

This account is a firehose of quantitative racism but it is worth re-iterating that: if a trait like skin color is caused by genes, and society determines outcomes based on skin color, then -- yes -- those outcomes will also be heritable. This is heritability 101!

A publication system based on bioRxiv plus community notes would be INFINITELY SUPERIOR to what we have today, and would cost $10 billion per year less.
