Congratulations to our postdoc Dr. Elizabeth K Neumann for landing a tenure-track position at UC Davis. You will be missed but it will be exciting to watch you grow during this next phase of your career.

Congrats to graduate student Emma for her “Outstanding Individual Research Proposal” departmental award! Emma Guiberson | Caprioli Lab

Eye know it sounds "cornea," but visionary Human BioMolecular Atlas Program (HuBMAP) researcher Dr. Angela Kruse at @vanderbilt's Spraggins Lab blinded us with science with this #mxIF image for #NationalHealthyVisionMonth! #WomenInScience #ScienceImages #AxioScan

A legendary Bigfoot of metallobiology has been spotted! Caitlin Murdoch, PhD and Andy Weiss in collaboration with Giedroc Lab introduce the ZNG1 zinc metallochaperone.

How does zinc, an essential cofactor for many proteins, get where it needs to go? For the first time, scientists have a identified a protein (called ZNG1) that places zinc in other proteins. Mutating ZNG1 leads to mitochondrial dysfunction. Eric Skaar ow.ly/4yaM50JexbB

How does our team de-stress on a Friday? How about some 🏹 at the Vanderbilt Cell and Developmental Biology retreat. Everyone brought out their inner Katniss/Hawkeye.

ASMS time! I'd be so grateful for you to listen to my talk on Tuesday am in room 103 in the session spatially resolved omics! Spraggins Lab #ASMS2022 #massspec #ims #imagingms #lipidomics #spatialomics #pasef #pasefms #timstof #morethanjustaprettypicture #spragginslab

Good evening #ASMS2022! We'll be highlighting individuals each day, but here's a rundown on all of the Spraggins Lab presentations and posters you can see this week! Hope to see you there!

Good morning #ASMS2022! Make sure you visit Ally (Allison Esselman) and Kate (Katerina Djambazova) at their posters today. Come learn how you can use MALDI IMS to probe lipid heterogeneity between glomeruli and structural/spatial diversity of gangliosides within the kidney!

.Human BioMolecular Atlas Program (HuBMAP) researcher Dr. Angela Kruse asks you to set your sights on this #immunfluorescence image of the optic nerve. Just a reminder to take care of your eyes, because that’s how eye roll.😉 #WomenInScience #ScienceImages #AxioScan Spraggins Lab

Congrats to Dr. Emma Guiberson (Emma Guiberson) for a successful defense of her work on the effect of bile acids on C. diff. infection! She is off to study gut microbes Stanford University. Spraggins Lab Caprioli Lab Eric Skaar lab.

Yesterday was a historic day in plant biotech: a purple tomato engineered with high antioxidants was approved by Dept. of Agriculture NorfolkPlantSciences helps prevent cardiovascular disease and fight cancer in humans. This approval under new regulation ushers in a new era for plant synbio!

Check out Emilio's most recent publication in J of Mass Spec & Advances in the Clinical Lab demonstrating spatially resolved lipidomic analysis to reveal molecularly distinct S. aureus biofilm layers. Van de Plas Lab | Eric Skaar | Caprioli Lab sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Human BioMolecular Atlas Program (HuBMAP) researcher Dr. Angela R Kruse vision brought this #3DMicroscopy image of the vasculature in the retina to light! And for those of you who are grateful the cornea puns are at a minimum, these aren’t puns, they are optical allusions 📷 Spraggins Lab #CataractAwarenessMonth

So proud of the amazing work and wonderful presentation by Ally Esselman (grad student Vanderbilt Chemistry) at #ASMS2023. Thanks to our collaborators and friends in the Van de Plas Lab

Please RT. I am currently hiring graduate students and postdoc fellows. Details can be found here: postdocs.stanford.edu/prospective/op… My lab is dedicated to developing and integrating imaging, AI, and spatial omics technologies to uncover mechanisms driving disease initiation, progression,
