New paper in Nature Water led by postdoc Lucas Vargas Zeppetello. Are plants really more sensitive to drying of the air than to drying of the soil? Lots of interesting debate on this topic in the last few years. 1/x

My love for hydrology started in CornellSoil&WaterLab investigating the efficacy of stormwater detention basins. 10+ years later, the data has been published in a study led by Bishwodeep Adhikari. Nice work!
Feeling grateful for those who shared their love of science with my undergrad self 🙏

New comment in NatureClimate, on the use and misuse of indices of 'dryness', 'aridity' and 'drought' in climate impact studies. Builds on arguments made previously by Mike Roderick, Alexis Berg and Jack Scheff (co-authors) and also many others.
