My 2011 Physical Review Letters paper is my second first-author paper; there is no other student or postdoc on the paper (just me, my MIT PhD advisor, and another MIT CEE faculty member); the paper currently has 160 citations. For this paper, I built my own experimental setup

Publishing with research disruption is tough. Continuous access to the lab, facilities, equipment, and preserved samples is critical. For instance, our 2020 CCR paper: the lab closed for 3 months during the pandemic, yet the lab was still functional, and we preserved our samples;

Ecole Polytechnique – X2006 Orientation Week in Sept 2006. Ecole Polytechnique is and has consistently been THE best engineering school in France. There, I earned the finest education I could dream of. Thanks École polytechnique. #X2006 #Xforlife #PourlaPatrielesSciencesetlaGloire

My most highly cited paper stems from a collaboration with industry. Two years of late-night studying and frequent trips to the industrial partner site led to a new method for determining the fracture toughness of materials at the microscale, which we published in the Journal of

The best part of MIT? The MIT Gospel Choir. It helped me fall in love with MIT. In between lab sessions, the time spent with my friends deepened my love for music (and science). Here are group pictures from a public event 15 years ago, where I am with short hair, red festive top,
