Clemson University is hiring an Assistant Professor of Global Black Studies. I know several people over there that are really committed to building AfAm Studies and doing some fantastic work. Spread the word if you know anyone who might be a good fit. apply.interfolio.com/112664

Editing a cluster of essays with the theme of 'anti-work aesthetics,' mostly contemporary. Please let me know if you'd like to write something for it.

One of my biggest issues with academia is that the reward for being incompetent at service is less service, and the reward for being good at service is more service, which can lead to unequal (+ very often gendered) service distributions. Any tips for dealing with this?!

I'm giving my students the option of designing a Twitter thread as part of their public scholarship assignment. What are you fav academic research threads?

Love that Oxford University Press has tried to *secretly* launch another piece-of-shit TERF propaganda book on their list because they know how fucking embarrassing it is. I am beyond disappointed.

Angry & disappointed to see this—as an OUP author *and* a UP publisher. HLS’s book is “philosophical” but OUP lists its “practical proposals and policy recommendations” (!) as a selling point. This isn’t just a concern for scholars. It’s a concern for publishers. Speak up UP-ers!
