The biggest pitfall for those who love lifting heavy weights: Trying to stay max strong all the time. Having DIFFERENT periods of building the foundation & peaking for top numbers is key for sustainable progression & longevity.

“Belly button to spine” is NOT how you cue core stability when lifting. That cue is designed to target one muscle (the TA) when optimal stability is about ALL THE MUSCLES that surround the spine. Rather, think “brace for a punch!”

Reaching failure is required at times to maximize results, and create bench marks. “There is no shame in failure, if you give an honest effort” #bench #masterspowerlifting #Powerlifting #football #gym #weightroom #strengthandconditioning

One of the pleasures of coaching is having the opportunity to coach along side a player that played for you. I am excited to announce that Andy O’Dell will be coaching our offensive line and assisting with our strength program. Proud of you Andy!

Be in the present and bloom where you are planted. Strive to make a difference every day. Make someone’s day better! Say something kind, go out of your way to help someone!

First Offensive Lineman taken in the draft described as "nasty" and "relentless"...described as a player who "imposes his will"...IT'S A MENTALITY! Not everyone is cut-out for the trenches!

20 players lifted 1000 lbs or more. Not where we want to be, but it is a big step in the right direction. Another 10 players are less than 125 lbs away! Keep up the good work! Keep Pushing Yourself! Go Govs!
