It was good to meet with Colm Gildernew MLA & Ciara Ferguson MLA to discuss the looming Benefit Cap mitigation cliff edge due to take effect from 1 April 2025βdeepening poverty across NIβunless urgent action is taken by Communities NI Minister Gordon Lyons MLA to retain support for 2,160 people.
Honestly, Cliff Edge Coalition NI has played an absolutely vital role in advocating on the Benefit Cap. I am so relieved to hear this news. I'm relieved for over 2,000 of the poorest families that they will continue to receive mitigation of this cruel measure. πͺπβ¨
