Very excited to share some of my work in Britt Glaunsinger's lab on an enigmatic protein involved in herpesviral genome packaging, the result of a great collaboration with Andreas Martin Lab, Stephanie Gates, Lisa Strong, and the twitterless Matt Gardner. [1/10]
Fantastic thread by Allison Didychuk detailing our collaboration with Britt Glaunsinger’s lab looking into viral proteins involved in herpesviral genome packaging
Out now- our review with Kylie Walters (she/her) group: Proteasome interaction with ubiquitinated substrates: from mechanisms to therapies Erika Lopez Alfonzo febs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.111…
And now it's out 🎉! Big thanks to the reviewers and editors eLife - the journal who helped us improve this story about a long-enigmatic herpesvirus protein required for viral genome packaging. Glad to see this work now in eLife - the journal elifesciences.org/articles/62261 Congrats Allison Didychuk Britt Glaunsinger Stephanie Gates Lisa Strong and Matt Gardner
New preprint alert! Exciting smFRET measurements of the 26S proteasome. “Ubiquitin modulates 26S proteasome conformational dynamics and promotes substrate degradation.” Congrats to authors Erik, Zaw, Jared Bard and Ken! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
We started a fun project to catalog all our plasmids. Usually, this is very laborious because some are huge and in low copy numbers. Pretty cool though, shout out to plasmidsaurus for helping me accidentally find an insH10 E. coli transposon insertion outside of my plasmid ORFs!
Congrats to Andy on a successful @HHMINEWS renewal! We were finally able to celebrate all our accomplishments together with some bubbly UC Berkeley MCB Berkeley Biophysics
Great first day of talks at the UC Berkeley MCB BBS retreat, with solid Martin lab representation with a fantastic talk by Erika Lopez Alfonzo
We are so proud of Stephanie Gates and excited to see her lab grow!
We are excited to welcome Paula Ana Paula Vargas Ruiz to the lab for her PhD studies Berkeley Biophysics 🎉🍾
