Good advice

Unless there is a dramatic shift, once again, the islands of the Caribbean and SIDS overall will have another telling example of the crisis we face constantly as a result of a warming climate. Lives upended, infrastructure lost and the cost to rebuild will leave a heavy toll.

My mind goes back to Luis. I was in Jamaica at the time. Flying over Antigua, on my return home, it was barely recognizable. Irma was a totally different monster. Our reality in the Caribbean makes us strong but can be truly tragic at times. I pray for all in the path of #Melissa

No one deserves this. No one, even moreso those in countries who did absolutely nothing to cause this crisis.

At least, churches are usually a safe place to shelter.

As of Tuesday evening, 1,348 residents have been evacuated from the Southern Bahamas. Inagua, Acklins, and Ragged Island are complete, with Crooked Island and Mayaguana in their final stages.

This app, social media in general, will give you a false sense of reality. A lot of people impacted by this disaster are totally isolated at this moment, waiting on relief and support, no access to any communication device. Our minds should remain on them.

The cost of rebuilding across the Caribbean pales in comparison to the rising death toll. I expected loss of life, but nothing like this. This is truly sad and tragic.

Not to mention Haiti, Cuba and DR. Truly saddening.
