As a little bonus (hopefully), the next version of Defold Engine will also be using Vulkan as the defold renderer for OSX. We've had vulkan support for several years, but now we are finally ready to flip the switch. Eventually all supported platforms will use vulkan as default!

This is very true. It comes up again and again with Defold extensions for instance. "Extension XYZ hasn't been updated in 9 months. It has been abandoned!" No. It is doing what it is supposed to be doing. Defold rarely introduce breaking changes. Extensions just keep working.
