One year ago, we published our work on how neurons in the rat visual cortex could support object motion perception by solving the "aperture problem". doi.org/10.1126/sciadv… ... Missed it? Great time to revisit this thread: #Paperversary

Huge congrats to Karyna M. 🇺🇦 for her paper published today in Science Magazine! She found that the hippocampus is really important for a key strategy we use to make decisions called hidden state inference! 🧪 🧠science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… 1/7

According to dynamical systems, psychiatric disorders can be seen as energy landscapes with peaks and valleys. OCD has deep valleys where neural activity gets stuck, while schizophrenia has shallow valleys that let neural activity roam too freely, connecting unrelated ideas.

1/✨ New paper in #eNeuro! How do dominance behaviors vary across mouse strains? Turns out, it’s not one-size-fits-all! Comparing CD1 & C57 mice, we found strain-specific behaviors that could change how we study social hierarchy in the lab🧵 Paper here: tinyurl.com/bdeuf6s9

Delighted to share this new work from the lab. A tour-de-force from Cassie Klune Caitlin Goodpaster and Michael Gongwer showing how the maturation of frontolimbic circuits underlies developmental milestones in threat avoidance behaviors.
