Help still needed. At a bit of a loss and haven’t enjoyed riding for a week now. Can’t seem to get a position that feels like “before” or with much power.

Cycling cleat position,

Prior to a bike fit all was good and I felt comfortable. After bike fit cleats were moved very far back I struggled couldn't find it comfortable so moved them forward.. but have never found a good position again!

Any ideas to find the right spot?

Coaches working in the private space. Particularly those who do bespoke weekly plans.

How and when do you have holidays? Genuine feel you can be “working” all the time even with the flexibility it allows.

I’ve got a habit of going to Italy when things get a little tougher. 🇮🇹

It’s good to be down here finding some fitness and happiness. For me both of these things are linked more and more.

Once you’re in a good rhythm of training with high volume I find consistency comes easy. It becomes normal to maintain week upon week.

Once that rhythm breaks it’s much harder to get it started. To find the routine and momentum again.

Training can be a funny thing!

Never thought I would have to be spending my time defending myself, my reputation and coaching in YouTube comments but here we are.

I've said it before and will again coaching can be a difficult isolating job especially when you are seen as a means to an end.

Life can be a funny thing. One minute you’re rolling the highs with a lot to look forward to and feeling the momentum.

Then in an instant the pendulum can swing, you’re at square one and being nailed by the hammer.

Important to take the good and enjoy that good. It changes.

I took some time to write about my debut marathon, woodroffecoaching.com/blog/the-marat…
How the day went and the feelings involved. It's not your usual race report and I hope a lot of you might enjoy it! Please read and feel free to share!

My reel on instagram from running the marathon has over half a million views.

So I guess to go semi viral you either need to post some shit about how your zone 2 training made you run 50% faster.

Or just run a sub 2:30 marathon.

Simple.

I get enquiries of people asking if I think they should do Ironman/ triathlon or if it might be for them.

Whilst the popularity is on the rise it really isn’t going to be for everyone! The time to train, expensive involved and having 3 sports to do.

YOU should WANT to do it!

This is incredible but also quite insane.

I suppose it’s very similar to triathlon and Ironman. People going straight in for the biggest thing out there, the longest events and ones for most kudos.

No problems starting small working your way up the distances!

One week ago, been a mixture of highs and lows this week with the usual fatigue and post race come down.

But I'm still bloody proud of that effort, the build up and execution. I have a bit of an article in the works with some more reflections coming!

Thanks for the kind words!

Last week I was running in a snowstorm the day before the marathon and spent the weekend staring at the weather charts.

This weekend spring came back, we rode up to the snow line and it all felt a bit surreal.

April is strange. But it’s good to move the body and be training!
