At the request of many, the City has begun to remove all American flags from sports arenas and locations along Lake Ontario, including the pier at Snug Harbour in Port Credit. Oversized Canadian flags (15’x30’) are ordered and will be installed on all the poles at City Hall.

New vlog👇Government announced huge cuts to disability support. People at Trussell food banks told us they’re terrified about how they’ll survive. Positive Department for Work and Pensions investment in employment support & universal credit undermined by HM Treasury drive for short term savings.

Net zero by 2050 is challenging but achievable. It is supported by the scientific community and backed by the independent Climate Change Committee as being not just necessary but feasible and cost-effective. We are already seeing the impact of climate change. From extreme

NEW: Analysis from Joseph Rowntree Foundation ahead of the Chancellor's spring statement this week shows families worse off by £1400 by 2030. This would mean missing the PM’s living standards milestone and could be the first govt since 1955 to see a fall in living standards across a parliament.

💥Revealed: some DWP sleight of hand in the disability benefit cuts poverty impact assessment. Real impact closer to 400,000 than the 250,000 they report (which was bad enough)⤵️

The Government's announcement that the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund will be renewed for this year is a welcome relief to the thousands of families who rely on the fund, but it is not good enough that they have been left in limbo.

Extremely disappointed that during the Easter break, ministers have slipped out cuts in support for the most vulnerable children from the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund. I have written to Bridget Phillipson to call for these changes to be reversed immediately 👇🏽

There is nothing clever or funny about this image, Mr. President. We just buried our beloved Pope Francis and the cardinals are about to enter a solemn conclave to elect a new successor of St. Peter. Do not mock us.

Clarity over the Defra budget cuts isn’t great - now appears that there will be a £100m cut in farm funding. Given that the schemes are largely already committed that means an advantage to large estates who are already inside the schemes and more bad news for small family farms

We’ve published our report on priorities for the water sector, calling on Sir Jon Cunliffe and the Water Commission not to shy away from “root and branch” reforms. Read the report: publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm5901/cmse…
