It’s easy to say this after England failed to take a wicket following their surprise declaration last evening but even taking Baz Ball into account, I think inviting the Aussies to bat on a beautiful pitch and having a bit of a one dimensional attack, might backfire on England.

What a fantastic test match!!!! Congratulations to Australia!! Brilliant innings by Pat Cummins to get them over the line…………………..(I knew I wasn’t keen on that 1st day declaration) 🙁

Our mature bowling attack bowled more overs than the Aussie attack in this 1st test, in what will be a gruelling series. Not ideal. If you also consider that Labuschagne, Smith and Head scored a combined total of just 101 in their 2 innings, then it’s a huge win for the Aussies.

The BBC audio drama People Who Knew Me is fantastic! Many congratulations to Daniella Isaacs who wrote and directed this and to the quite brilliant cast!! I highly recommend this fabulous listen!!
