Interesting data here. Brings up a lot of questions as well about how changes in allocation can improve survival. Important to consider how devices shuffle transplant candidates, and how we can ensure optimal utilization of organs in the world of different preservation tools.

Mentorship is so important. Identifying good mentors can be tough, but this post does an excellent job highlighting the value it adds to students’ education. While it can come from a formal opportunity, sometimes luck and serendipity can produce amazing mentorships too.

This offers some really interesting insight into one mechanism of PGD. Transcriptomic and multi-omic clues may lead us to a better understanding of the pathophysiology of PGD. We have so much to learn! The future of organ preservation is bright! #transplant #Heart #omics

This is a very interesting study, and so important as long term outcomes for our youngest transplant and MCS patients continue to show differences when compared to older patients. Heterogenous etiologies of heart failure may require tailored durable therapy paths!

The ability to produce pulsatile flow with a meaningful pulse pressure provides a lot of potential for future devices. This may be important for reducing some of the complications seen in continuous flow current generation LVADs. I’m optimistic about future MCS!

This is a big deal! More folks in more “high risk” groups are living longer! Love to see #intermacs tackling. That having been said, lack of social support drives survival. How can we support these pts and close that gap? Lots to learn still, but very exciting! #HF #heartmate3
